Kolam
Kolam is a rangoli traditionally composed of geometric lines and shapes, drawn around a grid pattern of dots. It is drawn by south Indian women with rice or chalk powder in front of their homes.
Last Friday was Ramanavami [lord Rama's birthday] and I witnessed an abundance of fancy Kolams in Swethu's society. Everyone came out to chat, draw and celebrate; it was so peaceful and so much fun!
